It's expensive, but what isn't nowadays. I can say hands down they have some of the best potato salad in the Lou! My ribs were nice and moist and tender with a deep rich smokey flavor. I could literally smell the BBQ a block away. I will most definitely be back
I got there right after they opened. I was in the parking lot and the smokers were going strong. Drew me right in. My son works nearby and recommended this place. I ordered monsterburgers and potato salad. The burger was huge! And so tender and flavorful. The smoke was perfect. The potato salad was also really tasty. Coach was very nice, super polite. I HIGHLY recommend eating here. You'll be greeted warmly and leave with a full belly and a need to return soon.
Some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Huge portions, friendly staff, and worth the money.
Walked around 4pm. All they had was rib tips BUT they were AMAZING! You could taste the smoked flavor, the meat was juicy and the burnt parts were flavorful. My kids loved the potato salad and baked beans. Coach and Gloria were very gracious and friendly. It was like being at friends house for lunch. Food is great, owners were hospitable and the prices very reasonable.
We heard about Touch of Texas on Fox2, and decided to give it a try. I got the Tennessee Beef Polish with a side of spaghetti. I have to say that I REALLY loved it! The sausage is literally a foot long and hangs WAY out of the bun! It was cooked perfectly on a smoker and had a really nice flavor. The casing had a nice “snap” to it without being too chewy. The beef inside was tender and juicy. The sausage was served on a soft bun, then topped with their baked beens and onion/pepper garnish. All of these flavors really hit home for me. I enjoyed the spaghetti too. It had a BBQ flavor in the sauce. The dining room isn’t huge, but there is plenty of space for the rush times. The music was great and not too loud to talk over. The owner was great - he obviously enjoys his business (which is getting rarer these days). He talked us through the options and gave us some of his back story. This is the kind of small business that I enjoy patronizing.
A Touch of Texas BBQ is the real deal — pure smoky perfection from start to finish. The smoked chicken wings were absolute perfection. The seasoning was charred just right, the meat was cooked thoroughly, and that smoky flavor lingered beautifully with every bite. Then came the ribs — and let’s be clear, these weren’t regular ribs. They looked like dinosaur ribs — huge, impressive, and downright mouthwatering. Despite their size, they were tender and flavorful, falling right off the bone. The sauce tied everything together — a perfect blend with just a hint of sweetness that complemented the smoky flavor perfectly. The smoked spaghetti was another standout — filled with large-cut vegetables that gave it a hearty, rustic feel. Personally, I would’ve liked the veggies cut a bit finer for texture balance, but the smoky taste mixed into the spaghetti made it absolutely top-tier. And while waiting for my order, I believe the owner was playing old-school R&B cuts, which made the experience even better. The vibe was smooth, the music was right, and I was thoroughly enjoying myself before the food even hit the table. Final Verdict: A Touch of Texas BBQ delivers bold flavor, Texas-sized portions, and a smoky kick that’ll have you coming back for more — and the vibes alone make it worth the trip.
Okkkkkkkkk Let me tell you the back story first I passed by this place Sunday and saw the smoke and smelled really good…..mind you I was on my way to Urgent Care but I didn’t stop before I left. Fast forward to today when in the neighborhood and met the Owner……COACH I bought the OXTAILS and when I say very tender and seasoned out of this doggone worldalso I had a sample of a smoked chicken wing w/o sauce and when a wing is good without sauce then it’s good!!!! The atmosphere is great and Coach has a wonderful personality and just a down home gentleman!!! I’m glad I stopped by and will be a FOREVER CUSTOMER……PLEASE TRY THE FOOD…..YOU WON’T REGRET IT
Y'all already know I love good food! I'm not a fancy dancy critic, I'm just an average person. So let me tell Y'all about the meats here, BAYBEEE it is and was the truth! The only reason it was is because we ate it all! The beef ribs was so FYE. The chicken was plain ole good, and the rib tips was giving all that it was suppose to give. When the assignment of smoking meat was given to this family, they understood that assignment!!! If you go to the Lou you got to, must , it's an order to go to a Touch of Texas! I promise it's that good.
